DCSim Software Suite

DCSim™ Software Suite

DCSim is modular software tool built on the core cost and energy simulator engine. Romonet has created the first inter-disciplinary tool that allows users to model their data centre and IT services from the ground up.

DCSim™ - Model Engine (Base Module)

DCSim - Model Engine is the base module and is required for the operation of all the other feature modules within the software suite. DCSim - Model Engine allows users to store, share and manage scenarios, simulation results, devices and device data. Data stored in Model Engine can be made available to multiple users over a network.

DCSim™ - Model Builder

DCSim - Model Builder module allows users to create their own data centre layouts without the need to learn XML, which is the format in which the core application accepts new layouts. The layout designer within Model Builder provides a drag-and-drop interface where common data centre components can be placed and interconnected with electric and thermal paths.

DCSim™ - Model Viewer

Model Viewer allows users to view previously created data centre layouts that have been generated via Model Builder. The Viewer allows users to access simulation results but not edit or change simulation or layout parameters. Model Viewer is ideal for consultants wanting to leave clients with access to actual simulated data but without allowing them to edit or change some of the complex parameters that require expert knowledge.

DCSim™ - Cost & Performance

DCSim - Cost & Performance module provides in-depth financial analysis and the creation of TCO and ROI scenarios. Designed specifically to aide businesses build dynamic and base-lined cost models for their data centres.

DCSim™ - Reporting & Analytics

DCSim - Reporting & Analytics module provides a wealth of template and user configurable reports. Reports are grouped by audience and are generated in Microsoft Word document format allowing placement of logos and the addition of manual text to reports. Analytics provides a plug-in for Microsoft Excel allowing the analysis and direct manipulation of simulation models from within Excel itself.

DCSim™ - IT Extensions

DCSim - IT Extensions allows the addition of IT devices to a simulation model. Template and reference devices are also available within this module allowing a range of benchmarking and comparison simulations to be run.

Our thinking

  • As the industry grapples with metrics, which metric can be meaningful across the whole world and tell me about my data centre and IT efficiency? How about cost per delivered kWh?
