Who can use the simulator

The Simulator
The simulator is currently in beta trials within the BCS Data Centre Specialist Group membership. Anyone can join the BCS and participate in the trials. It is expected the trials will complete in late autumn (2009) after which point the simulator will be publicly released.
The simulator will be available under the following licence terms:
Core Engine source code - Licence type OSL v3.01
XML Schema (data formats) - Creative Commons Licence V2.02
During the beta trials the source code is only available to BCS members. The open source simulator can be used for any purpose allowed within the terms of the OSL licence under which it is released.
The Web Interface
The BCS data centre specialist group host a running version of the open source simulator which can be accessed by a proprietary web interface.
The web interface was deigned and implemented by Romonet but remains the property of the Carbon Trust and as such the code base is not publicly available.
BCS members have free access to the web interface on the proviso that they accept the BCS and Carbon Trust terms of use. BCS and Carbon Trust plan to make the web interface accessible beyond just BCS members in the future.
